Gone Fishing--Letter 12

Dear Governor Ducey,
I really did go fishing. Fishing comprises a lot of what I don't like about writing. It's lonely. It's frustrating. You do the same thing over and over. But it also comprises a lot of what I do like about writing. You get to stare at grass. You notice the difference in the tiny things. The longer you work at it, the more you hope it's going to turn out great. Even if you don't get a fish. Is being governor like that? It seems like it's more like you get a lot of fish and then instead of throwing them back and letting them grow bigger or taking them home and eating them, you leave them on the shore because an empty river, like an uneducated mind, is easier to manage than one with living fish.
